We are pleased to announce the opening of the Kemper Military School & College Museum, or simply, the Kemper Museum. As of October 1, 2021, our doors are officially open and we are thrilled to have you come and see what we have created. The Kemper Museum is a three-story building located right in the heart of town at 323 Main Street, Boonville, Missouri 65233. The structure was built in the late 1800’s and is a documented historical building.
The KMS Alumni Association purchased the building on July 12, 2019 and renovations began immediately. In March of 2021, a fire broke out and all the archives had to be evacuated and taken back to the storage area while the rebuild began. The Board of Directors conducted four public work weekends from April 2021 to its recent grand opening, and numerous others for a few key directors and alumni.
The Kemper Museum promises not to disappoint, and it has been well worth the effort. The Museum is open by appointment to all alumni, their families, and the community at large. We hope that each and every one of you enjoy the legacy that has been built for over 175 years and we look forward to seeing you there.
It is with pride and honor that the KMS Board of Directors present to you the “Kemper Museum”. This is a place to enjoy all the school’s 175 plus years of rich tradition and achievements. The Kemper Museum has different uniforms on display, distinguished alumni display cases, trophies, student works, memorabilia, awards, flags, building monikers, class pictures, standard of honors, battalion photos and even a cadet room. At the recent grand opening, many Alumni boasted of “Being teleported back to their cadet room back in the day”.
